LANDONN’S STORY

 

The young stallion, Landonn, has turned sport horse breeding into a fun and exciting business over the past two years.  He has invigorated the sport with an infusion of high quality foals out of Thoroughbred mares that are a commanding presence in the show arena.  Landonn acquired this substantial mare base in his first two breeding years as a young stallion.    These foals were of such high quality, they started to win. They had many championships and garnered many points.  This earned Landonn a ranking within USEF Leading Sires.  By the end of 2007, with only one competing foal crop, he had out ranked seasoned Holsteiner stallions such as Camiros and Riverman, in Dressage Sport Breeding.  He had just turned 6 years old.

 

The significance of this was felt immediately. 

 

“How does a young stallion with only two foal crops beat much older, seasoned stallions with many foal crops over decades?”

             Simple.  The quality of Landonn’s first generation (F1) is so good, consistent and repeatable, owners are confident in their breeding and choose those foals to WIN!

 

While his success in the US was fantastic, it was made greater by his bloodlines successes in Germany.  Since 1996, 3 closely related stallions to Landonn were presented to the Holsteiner Verband.  Each stallion carried the same motherline, Stem 6660.  The stallions were Bollvorm’s Lagunas, Calico and Cortado.  Landonn’s maternal Grandmother, Caprice III is responsible for these stallions success.  Each stallion was approved for the Verband, and sold for over $150,000 as a two year old.  Again, consistent and predictable quality, with results.

Landonn’s breeding program is straightforward.  We understand that it takes many generations of breeding stock to produce a desired and consistent outcome.  We also understand the US breeder may also be looking to produce a premium product in their F1 progeny.   Landonn has shown such consistency in production of type and desired conformation, we are confident he will produce a Premium foal.
